SPEED World Challenge Touring Car Drivers Randy Pobst and Jim Osborn visit the All Children’s Hospital on way to Round Two in St. Petersburg, FLA.
Tripoint Engineering’s newest hot shoe and Pilot of the #73 MAZDA 6 “Randy the Rocket” Pobst and Jim Osborn , driver of the “red-hot” Chili Pepper Racing #24 TC Thompson Children’s Hospital/Remote Area Medical BMW 325ci spent Wednesday afternoon, March 30, 2005. Pobst and Osborn visited over 100 sick and/or injured children at St. Petersburg’s All Children’s Hospital.
The All Children’s Hospital is the children’s hospital Florida’s west coast and beyond and is a regional referral center for children with some of the most challenging medical problems. More than 140 dedicated pediatric specialists and sub-specialists keep All Children’s Hospital at the forefront of treatment, education and research. Kristie Rogozinski, PR director of All Children’s Hospital says, “Having visitor’s from the community really brightens the day for the patients and their families. It was great to see the sparkle in the children’s faces when the race car driver’s visited each room.”
Pobst and Osborn spent several hours autographing “hero’ cards, sharing racing tips and joking with the children and their parents. “You never know who or what you are going to see but it is always a terrific experience. We were really happy that Randy could make it too, He has helped us out on many occasion and always makes the kids feel special” said Jim Osborn, When leaving the hospital Pobst commented “ Boy, I sure wish we could do more for these kids, they really appreciate even the small things we do for them” Rogozinski added. “Parents say when their children were visited by Pobst and Osborn it may have been the first smile of the day. We look forward to having them back next year.”
